The Cure - Jo-Anne Greene (Bobcat, 3.50UKP)

"When The Cure started," says Robert Smith, "I didn’t have any objectives other than not to have to work." And that probably explains why The Cure have had such a completely hit and miss career over the years, from when they formed in 1976 as "punk" group Easy Cure to achieving their "star" status as the glummest group in the world, with Robert wandering off from time to time to join Siouxsie And The Banshees or to form with the "psychedelic" one-off group The Glove. Now all this could make a very fascinating story, but the book relates their ten year history in such an utterly skimpy way that it manages to make it sound completely dull.
