Head On The Door 8 ½ out of 10
Believe it or not, compared to previous Cure albums "The Head On The Door" is positively normal. Admittedly there are lots of strange-sounding instruments like Japanese kyotos and Spanish guitars, and Robert Smith does tend to go on about things like screaming babies and the blood of Christ, but don’t let that put you off. Underneath his ridiculous haircut and all that daft prattle about luminous socks there’s a man who writes unusually brilliant pop songs as you’ll discover if you give this a listen. - Chris Heath
